If you haven’t heard about Chateau de Gudanes located in the south of France, you might have been in hiding as it is one of the most talked about places right now. Purchased in 2013 by Perth based couple, Karen and Craig Water, they have since spent the past four years lovingly renovating the Chateau which was built between 1741 and 1750 by Ange-Jacques Gabriel, the architect behind the Petit Trianon in Versailles.
Karen and Craig have just released their stunning book called ‘A true love never ends’. The book takes you on the journey of the 800-year-old Chateau’s restoration and shares with you all her glorious before and after images and gives you a taste of what it is really like to live in and restore such a magical property.
Whimsical, haunting and out of the world, the journey of this property is truly something spectacular to witness.
Fondly referred to as ‘The Espy’, Hotel Esplanade in St Kilda has been home for many years to Melbourne’s colourful folk, from members of the arts community to musicians looking for their first big break.
After being renovated and just re opening recently, forget any experience you may have had previously at the ‘Espy’, as this is an entirely new look and feel. Located in the old loading bay, the Espy Kitchen is now manned by a team of 60 chefs who will be serving pizzas, and charcoal-grilled and rotisserie meats. Plus, there will be weekend brunch available from 9am with crab omelets, scrambled tofu and avocado, and mushroom and halloumi rolls just to name a delicious few!
And if that isn’t enough, in early December a Cantonese restaurant and cocktail bar, Mya Tiger, will open and be overseen by executive chef, Ash Hicks (ex-Circa, Garden State).
